To provide specialist advise to referrer. To liaise with service users waiting to establish current presentation, give advice and formulate management / safety plans whilst waiting for specialist teams assessment/intervention. To support the delivery of a high quality link worker provision into primary care, secondary mental health services, social care partners, community based resources and voluntary sector. This will include providing consultation and training to staff in a range of agencies in relation to the mental and emotional well-being of individuals experiencing severe / enduring mental health conditions.

To support the Gateway/Team Operational Lead in the delivery of the service, ensuring it meets national guidance and local key performance indicators. To support the learning and development of new team members, students, Newly qualified, junior staff members when required Maintaining accurate and timely records. Ensuring legal requirements and subsequent amendments underpinning Children and Adult care are adhered to. To provide best evidence practice to service users which complies with legislation, policies and protocol and relevant quality, governance and local and national guidelines.

Ensuring that the local demographics are taken into consideration for service provision and improvement. Risk assesses clients for suitability for interventions. To evaluate and make decisions on suitability of new referrals, adhering to the services referral protocols, and refer unsuitable clients on to the relevant service or provide recommendation to referrers following discussion with clinical lead.
