Payroll Officer

We're looking for a Payroll Officer to join our busy and efficient Payroll team, within our Finance Department at the RSC. Our welcoming, friendly team of staff put our values at the heart of everything we do.
As a Payroll Officer you will often be busy processing high volumes of daily purchase invoices, as well as:
- Collation of forms from HR such as New Employees, Amendments to Contracts and Leavers for the monthly payrolls
- Attaching new employees to the monthly payrolls and attaching payments/deductions where applicable
- Collation of timesheets for the monthly payrolls
- Setting up new pro-rata musicians, actors and children and attaching to payroll
- Setting up and changing elements such as rent, services, subsistence and touring allowance
- Data input of basic hours, overtime, holiday, and compensatory time off (CTO)
- Data input of pro-rata musicians pay
- Calculation of Statutory payments such as maternity, paternity and adoption pay
Who would fit this role?
- Payroll processing experience is highly desirable
- Experience of working as part of a finance team, with an understanding of different areas within Finance, outside of immediate team.
- Excellent attention to detail, quality, and accuracy.
- Numerate - for example comfortable analysing numerical data and with good level of Excel skills (e.g., confident with formula, sorting data, summarising data)
- Proven ability and commitment to meet deadlines and able to work under pressure.
- Proactive in their approach, flexible and adaptable to new ways of working
This is a full-time, fixed term contract for six months, based in Stratford-Upon-Avon.
The Finance department works to a hybrid model. Typically, team members work an average of 2 - 3 days remotely each week, but this varies according to specific work activity.
The normal hours of work are 35 hours per week, worked Monday to Friday, with the understanding that additional hours may be required to fulfil the responsibilities of the role. Typical hours are 9-5 but there is some flexibility with this.
Interviews will take place at the end of November, ideally, with a start date of early December.
