**About the Job**

You will work as part of the team within the ITM imaging centre, to include clerical, technical and caring duties as allocated under the direction and supervision of the radiographers or superintendent in charge.

To provide support for patients and research volunteers.

You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will enjoy being part of a multidisciplinary team and working collaboratively. You will have a meticulous approach to accuracy and detail and able to maintain strict confidentiality.

This role is a maternity cover and considered full time based on 37.5 hours per week across seven days.

**Duties include**:
Booking Clinical and Research appointments as well as answering patient queries.

Provide physical and emotional support to patients throughout their attendance on the mobile units.

Support, welcome and assist friends and relatives accompanying patients to the department.

Provide information to patients about their examination and any follow up where necessary.

To help patients prepare for an examination including undressing, reassurance and explanation.

Conducting safety screening checks with patients prior to examination to ensure their suitability for MRI examinations and to ensure that any contraindications are brought to the immediate attention of the supervising radiographer or line manager.

Support the radiographers with the positioning of patients on the scanners and set up of equipment under the supervision of radiographers, operating safely in accordance with all health and safety policies.

Data entry using radiology administration systems, data sharing and image transfer using Picture Archive (PACs), Image Exchange Portal (IEP) and other associated information systems ensuring accurate, legible, comprehensive medical records are maintained.

Remove IV cannulas in accordance with departmental procedures and policy and infection control practice.

**Qualifications**

**Essential**
- Minimum of five GCSEs (Grades A-C), or equivalent, to include
- Basic Life Support Certification.
- NVQ Level II in Health and Social Care or Level 2 Diploma in
- Clinical Healthcare Support or equivalent experience.

**Desirable**
- Peripheral venous Cannulation Certification.
- First Aid at Work Certification.
- Fire Marshal Certification.
