Sourcing & Supply within UK Operations manages the material flow through the factory, enabling our packaging and processing areas to produce stock for customer orders to over 100 countries globally.
The Material Planner works within the Data and Materials Planning Team to manage Material Planning related activities to support the execution of Manufacturing plans.
You will work alongside the Material Change Planners, Production Planners, Material Planning Lead, Procurement and Pack Change Team to ensure we have robust and efficient Material Management activities that continue to meet the needs of the business whilstavoiding unnecessary write off.
In this role, you will be required to support the Planning Manager in developing best in class processes for all aspects of materials management (short shelf life, management of blocked stock, ordering policies) You will also be expected to work cross functionallywith Local and Global Procurement and Finance Teams and Suppliers.
**Your New Role**
- Oversee the Purchasing and Inventory strategy for incoming materials (components and excipients)
- Oversee Supplier Performance, taking action where appropriate alongside Local and Global Procurement teams
- Link with Warehouse/Supply Chain Analyst and use data to make improvements to material management policies
- Support Material Planning Manager to develop materials management processes that are best in class
- Provide support for issue resolution e.g., complex invoice queries, potential supply shortages
- Support Material Change Planners as appropriate, to achieve improved overall processes and tighter inventory control
**Essential Skills**
- Experience in a Planning Environment
- Strong inventory management knowledge
- Strong Systems literacy and ability to learn new systems
- Strong influencing skills across all levels of the organisation
- High level of customer focus
- Strong ability working in a hands-on environment
- Able to work with a degree of ambiguity and challenge
- Working as part of a team and playing your part in driving the overall performance of self and team
- Understanding and experience working with GMP / Compliance and Ethical Conduct
- Working with a range of systems
- Having both a customer and supplier focus to their role (both internal and external)
- Building good working relationships
- Ability to adapt to often changing workloads
- In-depth working knowledge of SAP
