**About Us**:
Within Ocado Group sits Platform Implementation, whose mission is 'to orchestrate the implementation of Ocado's platforms globally'. This department focuses on the full programme management life cycle of the implementation of our highly automated, multi-million pound Customer Fulfilment Centres (CFCs) - from pre-deal, through to the design, construction, installation, testing and 'go-live' phases (with all the process and portfolio management in between). This department is instrumental in ensuring we deliver these CFCs on time, to budget, and to the specific requirements of each client.

**About the Role**:
We're looking for a Project Engineer to to join the Product Application Engineering department in Platform Implementation, to support the build and commissioning of MHE products for our new build CFCs around the world. This role works closely with Product Engineering Specialists, taking responsibility for driving allocated initiatives through to completion, working cross-functionally with stakeholders either in the office or on site.

Please note, this role is based at our Head Office in Hatfield, UK & international travel may be required. We're also happy to talk flexible working with you.

This role will include:

- Identifying and managing the resolution of engineering change requests and product improvements, taking full accountability and responsibility for changes on released products.
- Reviewing, maintaining and updating related product technical documentation (including but limited to Manuals, BoM's, install guides, PDI & SAT checklists).
- Providing engineering product support, especially during design, installation & commissioning phases.
- Proactively supporting Engineering Supply Chain with engineering detail, including acceptance testing, and order specification.
- Enabling and facilitating new processes in the team.
- Acting as the focal point for early phase of development of new products.
- Leading urgent engineering project to address technical issues and to prevent any program delay.
- Leading/coaching/guiding junior Project Engineers (when and where it is applicable).

**About You**:
You will have:

- Demonstrable experience & success in a Project Engineering role.
- Experience of field installation of products and / or systems.
- Excellent technical and practical competence relating to automation and general engineering.
- Experience of projects and products in manufacturing, automotive, airports, FMCG distribution or similar field.
- Experience and knowledge of acceptance testing.
- IT literacy, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite and comfortable using CAD packages.
- The aptitude to debate detail (both technical and commercial) with both internal and external parties.
- Commercial awareness and consider cost impacts on decisions and proposals.
- The ability to work in a safe manner at all times and appreciate the implications and requirements of relevant product safety and compliance.
- An appreciation of applicable directives, codes standards etc (eg machinery directive).
- A Technical / engineering qualification to degree level in a relevant field.
