Maidenhead, United Kingdom Noumed Life Sciences Full time

Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager and indirectly (dotted line) to the Operations Director, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining health and safety standards in accordance with GMP regulations within our pharmaceutical manufacturing facility.

**Responsibilities**
- Develop, carry out and coach key personnel in Health and Safety activities, including but not limited to: Risk Assessments / COSHH Assessments, Recommend & implement control measures, Method Statements, Workplace/Occupational/Personal exposure monitoring, Safe Systems of Work, Standard Operating Procedures
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of the site to identify potential hazards, risks, and non-compliance issues.
- Investigate accidents incidents and near misses, and ensure improvement recommendations are implemented, whist following Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations (RIDDOR)
- Chair regular meetings with H&S committee and promote a “Safety First” culture at Noumed.
- Deliver HSE training across the company on topics such as Safety Inductions, Manual handling, COSHH, Fire Safety etc
- To act as Chief Fire Warden and First Aider and ensure there is sufficient fire marshals and first aiders to cover site at all times

**Requirements**:

- Ideally a qualification in health and safety, for example, NEBOSH diploma in occupational Health and Safety, and membership of a relevant body (e.g. IOSH).
- Demonstrable knowledge of current Health and Safety legislation.
- Previous experience in a similar role, within a production environment and an understanding of working in hazardous environment.
- Ability to confidently enforce H&S guidelines to all levels of personnel from the factory floor, to Senior Management and visitors.
- Commercially minded and able to balance safety needs with cost-effective solutions that maintain stringent safety standards.
- Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines whilst successfully dealing with often changing and conflicting priorities and stakeholders.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong report writing skills to document safety incidents, inspections, and training activities
- IT literate, particularly in the MS Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook etc)

Pay: £35,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
