**Job Purpose**:
**Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities**:
Making organic compounds and assisting in solid phase oligonucleotide synthesis after training.

**Essential Skills**:

- BSc, MSc or PhD degree in chemistry (or closely related discipline).
- Experience working in a chemistry laboratory.
- Knowledge and experience of organic chemistry.
- Experience in common laboratory processes, including mass spectrometry, MR and IT skills.
- Ability to work well both individually and as part of a team.
- Excellent spoken and written English and communication skills, including the ability to impart and obtain information clearly and concisely.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of organisation.
- Ability to work efficiently and to a high-quality standard.

***Desirable Skills**:

- Knowledge and experience of cell culture and biophysical and data analysis/bioinformatics.
