We are looking for a committed Credit Controllerto join our team,.This is a full-time role, and we offer hybrid working with a minimum of 3 days to be worked in our Leeds City Centre office following training completion.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Management of the LCU ‘Early Arrears Process’, monitoring accounts and establishing contact with members in arrears with a goal of rehabilitating loan repayments
- Reviewing member contact, payment plans and queries surrounding credit control and ensuring a high level of customer-service and professionalism
- Reviewing reduced payment plans to ensure fair treatment and reasonable terms for both LCU and the members we serve
- Processing payments onto internal systems to keep accurate records of member accounts and loans
- Processing referrals of outstanding balances to third party Debt Collection Agencies and/or Solicitors at the end of the early arrears process. Maintaining contact with such organisations and updating records accordingly to ensure a complete picture of the recovery action taken
- Management of loan balances undergoing insolvency debt solutions (IVA, DRO, Bankruptcy)
- Processing monthly and ad-hoc write-offs of loans that have received approval from the Senior Management Team

**Person Specifications**:
**Qualifications and Experience**
- No formal qualification is required but a good standard of Maths and English is essential.
- Previous experience in an administration role, preferably within a Credit Control team is advantageous.

**Qualities and Attitude**:

- Strong team player with a desire to help others.
- Good eye for detail and accuracy.
- Proactive in approach, showing initiative and with the confidence to speak up if something doesn't seem right.
- Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills, comfortable with liaising a diverse group of people.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and work to set deadlines
- Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
