This is a great opportunity to make a difference by joining an expanding team within the Council’s IT & Digital Service, working with us on a wide range of exciting transformation and business change projects across the Council.

The role provides a fantastic chance to work on a wide variety of interesting projects, all of which aim to improve the quality of the services the Council provides to our residents, businesses and communities, whilst learning invaluable new skills to further develop a career in digital transformation.

**What you will do**

As a Senior Service Designer, you will:

- take the insights that data provides and use these to focus research efforts to understand what is working well, what users are struggling with, and what the team can do to make improvements.
- Investigate, analyse and solve complex problems and make disciplined decisions based on available information.
- Work in a fast paced, evolving environment utilising an iterative method of delivery.
- Lead on a range of Agile and Design tools and techniques, with an ability to coach within and outside of your team.
- Design content which meets user needs and make complex language and processes easy to understand.

**Who you are**

**We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual who is passionate about the use of digital solutions and designing services around the needs of the people using them.

We are interested in people who have:

- experience using a user centred, evidence-based approach to service design and delivery
- experience of service, interaction or user experience design
- experience in carrying out user research
- experience of delivering projects using Agile

Alternatively, you may be coming from a business analysis background with a desire to use those skills (and develop new ones) in a digital transformation setting.

Your main place of work will be the award-winning, modern Civic Centre in Keynsham, halfway between Bath and Bristol, easily accessible via car or public transport, with a train station 5 minutes’ walk away.
