Children's Support Worker & Senior Keyworker vacancies - Supported Accomodation - Bristol
Social Work Partners are delighted to be working with a fantastic organisation to help recruit Support Workers and Senior Keyworkers, to work with care experienced young people aged 16-18-year-olds in supported accommodation who are preparing to leave care.
A little about Focus Futures:
They have established supported accommodation for young people between the ages of 16-21 in Swindon and Bristol currently. They view every child as unique in their resilience, skill set and needs and consequently offer a bespoke range of packages includinglow, enhanced and intensive support. In providing supported accommodation, they understand children are at varying stages of their journey, therefore a key element of our service is to take a person-centred approach, matching a young person with a mentor tocreate co-produced plans to achieve independence. They pride ourselves on our well-designed home environment, and communal areas, as social development is fundamental for independent living skills, which are further developed in a safe environment. Withinthe homes we promote and create spaces to enable young people to build relationships which can support positive engagement, successful transitions, reduction in incidences of missing episodes and which enhance important life skills.
You will join an experienced and ambitious team who are focussed on continuous improvement and providing outstanding placements for those children who need them.
You will receive:
- Salary of £24,000-29,000. The position is full time, 37 hours per week.

You will be responsible for:
- Ensuring all children are effectively safeguarded in accordance with all relevant policies and procedures
- Implementing effective approaches to improve outcomes for young people aligned to their needs as identified in their pathway plans
- Acting as liaison between all key support staff who are working with young people offering advice, guidance and signposting as required.
- Leading the planning of the shift with other team members as and when required
- Being able to refer young people to appropriate services with your professional opinion considering the most effective team/services.
- Supporting the group of young people, providing 1:1 and weekly groupwork sessions.
- You will also need to be available for rota duty to provide support to young people during the weekends. This will be applied on a shift pattern basis.
Essential criteria:
- The desire to be a team player who wants to achieve best possible outcomes for all our children.
- Experience of working with children/young people in social care.
- Knowledge and experience of child development and parenting capacity
- An understanding of trauma informed practice and how this impacts young people with care experience
- A willingness to work on a rota basis evenings and weekends with some sleep-in duties
- Understanding of how anxiety and depression presents in young people
- A child care qualification or a commitment to complete one
- Experience and/or knowledge in the field of adolescence
- Have a valid driving license.
- The right to work in the UK.
