An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Dean of Medicine to join the Norwich Medical School.

The Dean will provide strategic leadership through the continued development of Norwich Medical School (MED) in the design and delivery of innovative education in Medicine and in Clinical Psychology and ensuring the School’s continued progress in teaching and research quality.

The school is part of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FMH). Supported by the Faculty Associate Dean of Learning and Teaching and by the Heads of the School Department of Medical Education and of Clinical Psychology and Psychological Therapies, you will promote expansion and drive innovation in curriculum delivery and course design across our programmes. Working with the Faculty Pro-Vice-Chancellor and the Faculty Associate Dean of Research, you will encourage high quality research within the School, building on existing strengths in the three Faculty research centres - metabolic health, lifespan health and population health. You will be a member of the FMH Executive and will also contribute to the development and delivery of Faculty strategy, shaping investment decisions and Faculty policy.

The University appoints academic staff to either Academic, Teaching and Research (ATR) which have a strong research focus, and Academic, Teaching and Scholarship (ATS) posts which have a strong teaching and scholarship focus. Either pathway is possible for this post. You will be appointed to a full-time, indefinite academic post within the School, with the Dean of School role being for an initial period of five years, extendable for a further term with agreement.
