Ambleside, United Kingdom University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust Full time

We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible and highly motivated Clinical Support Worker to join our friendly and supportive community nursing team in Windermere and Ambleside.

You will need access to your own transport and the ability to travel as required.

This role requires excellent communication skills and it is essential that you have the ability to work on your own initiative and can work independently. The department is committed to support continuous education and professional development to facilitate advancement in skills such as medication administration and catheter maintenance care.

You will work as part of the Integrated Care Community (ICC's) covering a 24 hour period including weekends and bank holidays, 7 days a week. You may also be expected to work across a variety of DN teams in the Community Care Group to maintain service delivery.

Community Nurses work closely with all health and social care disciplinaries to prevent hospital admission, facilitate hospital discharge and promote independence through reablement and management of long term conditions.

We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community health care premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.

FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.

WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.

All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.

Your role will involve working independently and as part of a team to provide support to the Nursing staff and you will be part of a highly dedicated multi-disciplinary team with a focus to provide high, safe quality care for patients in their own homes.
