This role is an integral part of Commercial Services and sits in the Service Delivery & Infrastructure (SD&I) team.

The team is split into two, with one half focusing on supporting all of the technology infrastructure requirements and the other half ensuring that the organisation’s software and technology requirements are effectively and efficiently sourced and managed.

The SD&I team provide commercial support across the full range of the commercial lifecycle. Providing commercial input to the long term technology strategy, supporting stakeholders to articulate and refine sourcing requirements through to undertaking endto end sourcing activities and providing in-life contract management support to some of the biggest and most critical contracts.

The majority of the team’s workload is focused on providing the business with the most efficient and effective sourcing options for software requirements, utilising a range of Crown Commercial Service and public sector frameworks as well as a number of ValueAdded Resellers as required.

The team is also responsible for managing a smaller number of software related contracts, most critically the Value Added Reseller contract which provides an efficient route to market for a variety of lower value COTS hardware and software requirements.
You will be contributing to delivering Commercial Excellence, providing a customer focused service, understanding the business need and stakeholder drivers, with the aim of becoming a trusted commercial advisor.

You will also work closely with colleagues within the commercial function to contribute and feed into the category strategies and offer insight and best practice across the wider team. You will also develop relationships with key and strategic suppliers,driving value for money and risk management excellence across the category.

You will be expected to work autonomously to ensure effective stakeholder management and work within the commercial and wider governance framework processes and procedures.

You will drive performance management, risk management, issues resolution, financial management, change control and overall contract and statutory compliance whilst being responsible for continuous improvement (service and value).

As a leader in the Commercial function, you will support rolling out contract management standards across the organisation.
