ABM are currently recruiting for a **Waste Operative on a Fixed Term Contract** for an immediate start in **Belfast, County Antrim**.

**Purpose**

The role will involve playing an integral part in delivering effective recycling and waste services; ensuring receptacles are emptied; recyclables are separated to secure best rebate value; and waste services complement rather than disrupt other business activities. Adherence to safe systems of work and maintenance of excellent housekeeping standards.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Review & adhere to safe systems of work, policies & procedures
- Adhere to a ‘clean as you go’ approach
- Wear PPE as directed and maintain in good condition
- Decant/empty waste receptacles as required
- Ensure waste streams are segregated properly
- Moving waste receptacles to ensure provision in areas of need
- Coordinate provision of bins, skips and collections by waste contractors
- Ensure adherence to work schedules
- Ensure waste management does not disrupt client operations
- Operate balers & compactors and other equipment (e.g. for cardboard or plastic)
- Promptly report defects of equipment
- Complete check sheets as required

**Essential Criteria**:

- A full, clean driving licence.

**Desired Criteria**:

- Experience as a waste recycling operative.
- Licensed forklift operative (counter balance).
- Experience within the relevant industry, or a similar environment.
