**Your new role**

National Highways has the unique opportunity for Project Property Advisor to join our Major Projects (MP) directorate as part of the Property and Compensation division.

The key purpose of this role is to advise project managers and assistant project managers on specific projects to ensure that property casework, risk and issues are addressed and dealt with effectively and efficiently.

Specifically, you will also ensure that the land and rights required for a scheme are acquired efficiently whilst good levels of customer service (internal and external), financial propriety and governance requirements are met.

**What you’ll be leading on;**
- Ensure that our professional valuers and solicitors are fully briefed on cases and actively monitor and manage their performance.
- Ensure that case management information is correctly collected and entered into management information systems, both by self and by case managers.
- Guide and support case managers in their detailed handling of property acquisition and other cases. Make decisions in more complex and challenging cases, working with and guiding the case manager.
- Using your understanding of the legal and statutory requirements around compulsory acquisition casework, and governance regulations in this arena, to ensure cases are managed appropriately and ensure that administrative processes are correctly followed.

**To be successful you’ll need;**
- Relevant work experience or equivalent vocational training or both (eg legal secretary, insurance or banking industry casework).
- Thorough understanding of the procedures, policies and guidelines relevant to the job and how these fit with the overall functioning of the business.
- Experience of collaborating with stakeholders and suppliers (such as solicitors OR surveyors) to complete casework to a high standard.
- Good understanding of staff performance and line manager responsibilities.
