As an effective Hire Controller in Scotts, your main priority is thinking of the customers’ best interests. This means that you listen carefully to the customers’ wishes and are able to anticipate them well. Furthermore, you are responsible from A to Z that everything is arranged perfectly. Of course, you never miss an opportunity to explain to the customers which additional machines or products could benefit their projects. As an efficient Hire Controller, you will be maintaining regular contact with your customers to check if they have any new requirements and making outbound telemarketing calls to current and prospective customers.
Finally, when the customer has finished with the machines, you’ll be arranging for the collection and return of them and ensuring that the customer has received the best experience possible from Scotts Hire
The team in our Sandbach Depot that you can be a part of consists of several enthusiastic colleagues in various fields.
As a Hire Controller within our team, your working hours will be Monday to Friday, 0800hrs to 1730hrs.
The office is located in Sandbach Cheshire 5 minutes away from the M6 Motorway

Your Profile
‘Good geographical knowledge of the UK’ ‘An understanding that customer satisfaction is paramount. To also become the best at Scotts as a Hire Controller, you have to:
Have a good knowledge of the plant machinery and small tool hire industries.
Have excellent customer service skills coupled with tactful communication
Display a friendly and courteous telephone manner.
Be a strong team player, and enjoy working in a team.
Be available to work full-time hours.
- Exceptional computer skills with the ability to learn our Syrinx based hire system
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Keen eye for attention to detail when completing and filing paperwork.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work within a small team.
- Good communication skills and friendly telephone manner is imperative.
- Previous plant hire or vehicle hire experience would be desirable.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Deal with customer enquiries in a professional and polite manner offering the highest level of customer service.
- Use the hire system interactively to take orders, ensuring that availability is checked first.
- Using your product knowledge, you will provide the customer with the best option for hire.
- Ensure all paperwork is checked and filed correctly.
- Full in house training will be provided.
