Manchester, United Kingdom NatWest Group Full time

Our people work differently depending on their jobs and needs. From hybrid working to flexible hours, we have plenty of options that help our people to thrive.

This role is based in the United Kingdom and as such all normal working days must be carried out in the United Kingdom.

Join us as a Business Unit Reporting Controller
- We’ll need you to support the delivery of end-to-end business unit reporting control activities for our franchises and legal entities and help customers at a senior level in key finance areas
- Your daily responsibilities will see you maintaining working relationships with key customers and stakeholders in the wider Finance team and the heads of divisional functions
- This is your chance to take on a solutions-driven role that’ll help you bring a competitive edge to your career profile
- We offer a hybrid way of working where you’ll be based in our Manchester office at least two days a week, with the rest of your time working from home

**What you’ll do**:
Day-to-day, you’ll be shaping our strategy and operating model for business unit reporting to achieve the objective of establishing and maintaining the trust and confidence of our key customers and stakeholders.

To do this, you’ll be delivering within the service level agreement to create a full set of high-quality and accurate financial, statutory, regulatory and management reporting outputs. You’ll also comply with relevant policies and consider the effectiveness of our controls on a regular basis.

Your top priorities will include:

- Reviewing the product level data outputs from the product control teams to make sure that they’re appropriately recorded and substantiated to reflect our position
- Establishing robust analytical procedures over the balance sheet and profit and loss account to build an understanding of our business and its key drivers and to locate financial errors
- Supporting the transition to a Global Process Owner model and overseeing processes to ensure they adhere to the appropriate policies and control environment governance, like SOX
- Delivering monthly, quarterly and annual financial information to support statutory and external reporting, value added commentary and the analysis of your area
- Providing input into and assisting with process improvements and ensuring existing work and development activities are the main focus of continuous improvements
- Helping with our bank’s strategic imperatives, including culture and people development by participating or leading the programme as a programme specialist
- Building an excellent customer ethos by partnering with other FTC teams, driving strategic initiatives and contributing to decision-making

**The skills you’ll need**:
Alongside this, you’ll need experience of leading the delivery of core financial control and reporting outputs, including ledger close, balance sheet substantiation, statutory and management reporting and external audit.

Furthermore, you’ll need:

- An understanding of how to work to tight deadlines and manage key finance deliverables
- Knowledge of change best practices and how to deliver change in the financial services industry or medium to large corporates
- The ability to build and enhance key relationships at a senior level, while influencing and challenging as required
