**Purpose**

To create and maintain forecast models for core and portfolio items, incorporating business intelligence and forecast information gathered from sources including sales, finance, product management and historical sales activity. This position plays an integral role in navigating dialogue between sales and operations, as well as providing an objective interface between sales and operations and whilst maintaining cost-optimal inventory levels.

To co-ordinate the purchase activity of outsourced portfolio products from our global partners, monitor/analyse stocks, replenish, chase and deal with customer service both internally and externally where required.

Note: In addition to these functions employees are required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required.

**Nature and Scope**

The Inventory & Demand Planner is part of the Global Supply team and reports to the Global Supply and Services Manager.

The role will require the Inventory Demand Planner to spend most of their time at the Orme Street site. However, business meetings, off site training and other visits will form part of the role.

The specific demands of the role are described through the principal accountabilities outlined in this role description. The expected key competencies and key performance indicators for the effective execution of the role are also outlined in this document.

**Principal Accountabilities**
- Forecasting and replenishment of a large range of SKUs acting as integration point between sales and operations.
- Maximise OTIF (On Time In Full) availability to customers through inventory optimization best practices.
- Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecasts and evaluate forecast results.
- Understand fluctuations in demand as well as seasonal trends, promotional activity and inventory / sales projects to maintain stock levels.
- Interact with sales, marketing, and finance to understand demand forecast drivers.
- Identify excess stock and liaise with commercial team to develop plans for sale.
- Working with other departments within the organisation to ensure the appropriate purchasing and stocking strategies are applied on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs.
- Establish the target stock levels for each SKU for the UK warehouse to satisfy the desired service targets for customers.
- Monitor supplier performance and work with stakeholders to deliver improvements.
- Monitor and evaluate KPI’s which are relevant and specific to the area.
- Regularly monitor and cleanse data anomalies.
- General office duties
