**Job summary**:

- This role manages the oversight of all medium term performing business at UKEF. A portfolio of £25bn. The team covers; infrastructure, project finance, sovereign and general corporate transactions. Based overseas and within the UK.
- Management of waivers, amendments and post issue matters short of a restructure.
- Negotiating with exporters, counterparties, funding agencies and Sovereign governments.
- Management of reporting and maintenance of information, credit ratings and LGD on existing cases.
- The role is responsible for financial management of the portfolio using portfolio management tools with external parties.

**Job description**:
**Leadership and Management**
- Leading, Managing and motivating 4 teams (total of approx. 15 FTE); including Managers at Grade 6/7.

**Specific activities within the Deputy Head of Portfolio Management responsibility**:

- The Portfolio Management Division is responsible for all performing medium term credits
- In order to manage the work, the Deputy Head of Portfolio Management will need to work collaboratively with the Business Group Division and in particular with other Divisions within Risk Management Group which, in the new structure, includes, Enterprise Risk Management Division, Portfolio Management Division & Pricing & Risk Analytics Division.
- Key activities include:

- Provide both technical risk support and challenge to the post issue risk review process. Ensuring the quality and depth of analysis is appropriate for our transactions.
- Use commercial judgement and risk expertise when sanctioning proposed waivers and amendments via use of Delegated Authority, ensuring transactions are well negotiated and meet all relevant policy requirements.

**General**
- Contribute to Risk Management Group policies and strategic projects
- To undertake extensive external benchmarking with respect to peers and selected global financial institutions - and other relevant bodies including the IACPM / OECD / IMF / World Bank - to facilitate determining best practice.

**Person specification**:

- Detailed knowledge of risk management and control processes.
- Detailed knowledge and experience of portfolio management tools, assessments and insurance market behaviours
- Extensive credit risk management experience including the direct exercise of (significant) personal credit approval authority across a very diverse range of asset classes.
