We are seeking a Production Team Leader who will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operation of a team of Production Operatives on a shift, organising and motivating a team within the Saw, Polish and Quality area in a way that will ensure they achieve the required efficiency and quality to meet their goals and targets, and therefore delight our customers.

**Production Team leader (Saw, Polish and Quality) - £32k to £36k depending on experience - 40 hours - Monday to Friday Flexible between 8:00am to 4:30pm and 6:00am to 2:30pm - 1:30pm to 10:00pm**

The postholder will ensure that all processes within SPQ are carried out accurately and as efficiently as possible while ensuring that all work areas, machinery, and equipment in their area are maintained to the highest possible standards as described within the relevant SOP(s). The postholder must facilitate change by promoting and enforcing continuous improvement activity within the team and provide support for other areas of production where necessary

**KEY RESULT AREAS**

The following KRA’s are designed to ensure that the factory objectives of safety, productivity, quality, cost, and delivery, are consistently met and, ideally, exceeded.
- To ensure that components are produced accurately as per the specifications of the supplied manufacturing drawings:

- To the correct dimensions
- Correctly polished ends as per drawing or list
- Identify preventative and corrective actions in the manufacturing process
- To monitor the level of weekly/monthly quality failures specific to the area and measurable improvement targets can be identified.
- Success will be judged by both level of jobs produced which meet the criteria of “right first time” and improvement which results from the achievement of corrective and preventative actions.
- To manage and communicate work scheduling in the department.
- To achieve a balance between the competing demands of continuous improvement activities and production requirements which respects their individual importance.
- To co-ordinate activities to deliver the results identified in individual/team action lists as part of the Continuous Improvement Process. This includes communicating all action plans to members of the team and monitoring progress made towards achieving targets.
- To ensure the team is deployed effectively to consistently meet the demands of SPQ, and thus production schedules
- To play an active part in achieving the goal of having a multi-skilled workforce that meets current and future demands.
- Identify skill gaps for any employees who may require the skills needed to operate in SPQ and liaise with their respective manager to organise and deliver training.
- Establish action plans and implement necessary training (ensuring that records are maintained)
- Assist in establishing a method of monitoring the factory/department/individual performance for the purpose of continuous improvement activities.
- To assist your team to ensure that they have a clean and safe working environment, i.e. equipment and plant are maintained to a level which guarantees maximum up-time and that the work area conforms to the company’s requirements for Health and Safety and general presentation.
- That any defects or faults are identified, reported and remedial action is taken with minimum delay.
- To assist your team with controlling the supplies of consumables in order to prevent stock-outs. This includes liaising with the technical purchasing manager to control machine tooling such as diamond, polishing, drills etc.
- That the work area is clean, tidy, and devoid of any hazard.
- To play a full part in the continual improvement of factory housekeeping activities.
- Monitor tool wear and offsets to ensure dimensional accuracy is maintained.
- To produce and edit CNC programmes when necessary.
- To carry out risk assessments as and when required.
- To initiate, control and maintain the necessary documentation required to carry out your role and play a part in assisting in this process throughout the factory.
- That relevant, up to date, SOP’s, H&S documents, and QA documents are in place for every part of the process.
- To carry out monthly documentation audits in other parts of the factory as required (this will include, but not necessarily be confined to, SOP’s, H&S documents, and QA documents).
- Manage and maintain documents relating to your team’s time and attendance, work scheduling, overtime, and holiday cover.
- To maintain accurate, and up-to-date stock records.
