Main Purpose of the Job: As a Senior Support Worker, your role is to assist the manager and/or Deputy Manager in achieving the aims and objectives of the Statement of Purpose, while upholding the organization's mission statement and values. You will support and manage the staff team to meet the needs of the children and young people, undertake direct work with them when appropriate, plan each shift, allocate resources, and collaborate with other professionals for optimal outcomes. Additionally, you will offer supervision and support to staff in accordance with National Minimum Standards and as directed by the Registered Manager and/or Deputy Manager.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:
Meeting the needs of children:Ensuring staff awareness of each child's care plan and their responsibilities for implementation
Attending childcare reviews and planning meetings, providing information and working towards the best outcomes
Undertaking direct work with young people and being a positive role model
Maintaining accurate written records for monitoring, evaluation, and information purposes
Chairing children's meetings and facilitating consultation with young people
Acting as an appropriate adult during PACE interviews

Managing the staff team:Providing supervisory control, direction, and consultation for staff duties and responsibilities
Planning and ensuring smooth running of shifts while on duty
Offering consultation, advice, and support to staff for day-to-day matters
Providing 1:1 supervision in line with National Minimum Standards
Contributing to team and staff meetings to facilitate communication and staff development
Ensuring adherence to Home's policies, procedures, and National Minimum Standards
Assisting with staff recruitment, retention, and induction training
Supervising new starters during their probationary period
Balancing control, direction, and decision-making opportunities for staff
Identifying and addressing individual training and development needs of staff
Conducting annual staff appraisals
Addressing issues related to staff conduct and competence
Conducting management investigations as required
Assisting the Registered Manager in promoting personal and professional development through appropriate delegation of duties and responsibilities

**General Responsibilities**:

- Assisting the Registered Manager and/or Deputy Manager in implementing the Statement of Purpose
- Conducting in-house workshops on childcare-related matters to improve practice
- Driving company vehicles as per policies and procedures
- Working on a rota basis according to young people's needs
- Allocating resources appropriately and maintaining accurate financial records
- Receiving supervision, taking responsibility for personal development, and identifying training needs
- Completing all other reasonable tasks as directed by the Registered Manager and/or Deputy Manager
- Deputizing in the absence of the Registered Manager and/or Deputy Manager

**Systems Development**:

- Ensuring adequate staffing levels to meet Home's needs
- Managing budgets effectively and monitoring finances
- Maintaining cleanliness and regular maintenance of company vehicles
- Monitoring and addressing the condition of the building and grounds

**Promoting Efficient Home Operations**:

- Developing routines in consultation with young people and staff for effective childcare
- Clarifying expectations for maintaining a clean and orderly Home
