Bereavement Lead

The Patient and Family Support (PFS) Team at Arthur Rank Hospice Charity offers practical and emotional support to patients and families who are known to our Hospice services, including psychological support, social support, spiritual care, counselling and pre and post bereavement support. We are looking for someone to join us in this team as a **Bereavement lead and Patient and Family Support Team Co-ordinator.**
This role will co-ordinate the provision of psychological, social, and spiritual care service for patients and their families with pre and post bereavement needs, it will line manage the PFS team and lead and develop bereavement services across the hospice.
Main duties will include:
- Triaging of referrals to the bereavement service
- Contributing to the education and training of multi-professional health, theological and social care colleagues, volunteers, and others.
- Leading Bereavement support groups, volunteers and chairing supervision and team meetings
- To lead on the development and delivery of level 1 and 2 bereavement interventions
- Providing ad hoc, immediate, bereavement support within the hospice
It is also required to have previous experience working in a health or social care services, with relevant experience gained post qualification. It’s required to have an understanding of end-of-life issues, loss, grief, and bereavement with the ability to manage a team and support and develop a team of volunteers.
This is a permanent role, working 30 hours per week from our Hospice in Cambridge. There are options for hybrid working after completion of an initial induction period.
