**The role**
Regional Communications Officer Leeds, 17.5 hours per week. 12 Months contract Salary: £35,124 per annum pro rata* At the Royal College of Nursing we’re an optimistic organisation. You’ll use your positive attitude and your skills to support our Communications Manager and focus on the delivery and development of our member, media and stakeholder communications, services and products. Our aim is to position the RCN as the authoritative voice of nursing through locally promoting our activities, campaigns and achievements. Our audiences include RCN activists and members, the media, politicians and the wider public in the Yorkshire and Humber region. It's a job full of possibilities as you could get involved in anything from promoting our activities on social media to speaking to journalists and supporting our regional campaigns work. It's a great way to build your knowledge of our work and develop your potential.
**The person**
You will already have some experience in a communications role including knowledge of internal communications, or campaigns. A self-starter, you will have an eye for detail and an interest in healthcare, news and current affairs. You will have excellent research and writing skills and be able to present often complex information in a way that meets the needs of the audience. Whatever your background, you'll be efficient, accurate and show a real customer focus in all you do. We normally offer new employees the first point of the salary range, although you may be able to negotiate a higher starting salary depending on your skills, experience and current salary.
