Fibre Access Network Planning Coordinator Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Fibre Access Network Planning Coordinator to join our team at mec Communications. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the end-to-end design and provisioning of customer and OLO orders for a global tier 1 Carrier.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and provision circuits for the delivery of services to customers
  2. Monitor network capacity and ensure network optimisation requirements are being met
  3. Understand customer requirements through design documents and model circuits in transmission and IP related inventories
  4. Utilise network inventory tools and Crammer application to support circuit writing activity
  5. Prepare detailed circuit layout records for end-to-end circuit delivery
  6. Work with International Capacity Planning team for Interconnect node requirement
  7. Update circuit reference in design document and inventory
  8. Configure telecom infrastructure and/or network components to meet design specifications
  9. Ensure network management requirements for capacity and bandwidth are being met
  10. Manage overall network capacity, Ethernet, Sonet, and WDM rings/segments
  11. Alert Network Engineering and Capacity Management when capacity is low
  12. Assist in the development of procedures related to the processing and publication of CLRs
  13. Handle escalations and resolve circuit-related issues
  14. Respond to customer or OLO enquiries
  15. Ensure timely and cost-effective provisioning of orders
  16. Maintain records and progress within Crammer application
  17. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve problems
  18. Meet SLA targets for new orders

Requirements:

  1. Previous experience within an Access Network Planning Coordinator role working on network deployment projects for a leading telecom, internet, ISP, or hosting company
  2. Broad understanding of SDH, DWDM, and MPLS telecom and service provider technology, products, and services
  3. Experience of using Crammer application to support Circuit writing activity
  4. Coordination skills and a logical approach
  5. Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  6. Computer literate with the use of Microsoft Office Suite (email, word, excel)
  7. Essential for the successful individual to consent to BPSS (Basic Check) and SC level security clearance checks
