My client is a hugely successful organisation within the financial services sector. They are highly regarded and well-established. Reporting into the manager of core banking services, the Oracle Database Administrator is responsible for the administration and maintenance of databases and associated environments and the support of core banking system automation activities and processes.This role would suit an Oracle DBA with at least 5 years’ experience of managing Oracle databases.

**Oracle Database Administrator / DBA - Duties**:

- Undertake maintenance tasks on all Oracle database environments.
- Database capacity management and planning.
- Support projects involving the Oracle databases environments.
- Support systems running on the Solaris platform that directly or indirectly rely on the Oracle database environment.
- In line with the security requirements, implement and improve the Oracle database environments.
- Document system process and procedures necessary to ensure correct operation of services.
- Undertake and support established disaster recovery testing activities for the core banking platform.
- Maintenance and implementation of Core Banking environment monitoring tools.
- Produce MI for departmental reporting.
- Implementation and maintenance of relevant batch automation processes.

**Oracle Database Administrator / DBA - Requirements**:

- Extensive experience of Relational Databases
- Oracle Certified Database Professional
- Experience of Financial Services and Transactional Banking Systems
- Flexible approach to working hours
- Knowledge of Unix Operating system environments
- RMAN
- JBoss Application Server
- Unix Shell Scripts and PL/SQL
- Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control
- Oracle Fusion Middleware (OFM)
- Oracle Forms and Reports
- AxWay API Gateway
- In addition, experience with any of the following is a bonus (not a requirement) Sopra Banking Services Mortgage and Saving Suite (MSS). HelpSystems Automate platform, Red Hat Linux Administration, Microsoft SQL Database Administration.
