What you'll do
This position will report to the Head of Middle East and work closely with colleagues in our Dubai office.
This role will focus on supporting and growing our institutional business across Tier 1, 2 and 3 across the Schroder capability set. This will be done in conjunction with the current Head of Middle East where clients will, in areas, be divided up and in other areas, it will be a joint coverage model. The coverage model will depend on individual client dynamics, Schroders existing relationships and the new joiner's skill set to ensure efficiencies are maximised while being sensitive in instances to the need to have dual coverage.
You will be accountable for the delivery of agreed new business targets and to maximise new client mandates by leveraging industry knowledge, internal and external contacts, and consultant relationships.
Key responsibilities
- A key role in developing and achieving new client mandate wins through a continued focus on the development of new sales opportunities.
- Increase corporate & market awareness for the business, including the promotion of Schroders at key industry conferences, events and roadshows as required;
- Contribute strongly to the team's prospecting activity, including the ability to engage with institutions in a sophisticated way built from a deep investment, market place and client understanding. Leverage existing and new relationships to widen the breadth of prospect relationships and achieve new business ambitions for the business;
- Work closely with the investment teams in both public markets, private markets, and solutions to build a core understanding of the investment capability and represent the whole firm to organisations across the region.
- Management of the new business pipeline and delivery of a thorough and organised process to ensure Schroders delivers high quality & timely Rfps; pre pitch intelligence, internal preparation and pitch briefings.
The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need
- An understanding of institutional sales processes/cycles in the region;
- A strong capability to develop and build relationships with sophisticated clients;
- Ability to work independently, use initiative and be proactive, in addition to working effectively and collaboratively with colleagues to maximise sales opportunities across the channel and wider business;
- Strong personal presence, excellent interpersonal and influencing skills
- Deep investment knowledge - IMC is required, CAIA or CFA preferred.
