Ground Maintenance Supervisor
Reigate
Circa £28,000 - £32,000 negotiable
This is both a working & supervising role and applicants will need to be physically able to carry out the duties of any team member they supervise:
- To ensure that all Health & Safety procedures are followed particularly regarding the operation of equipment, manual handling and COSHH
- Cover staff holidays and sickness as required
- Help arrange cover for and assist with workload during bank holiday weeks
- Deal with one-off and emergency works as needed
- To ensure that all company procedures are followed
- Assist with interviews and recruitment of staff members when needed
- Carry out induction procedures with all new staff members and hold reviews / training days as required
- Train new staff on their routes - i.e. work with them at each scheme and complete training forms with them
- Complete new staff starter-packs accurately and correctly
- Supervise and cover the day-to-day attendance of staff members and report any absences or changes of staffing to your line manager
- Regularly communicate with all staff members - completing van checks and TBTs with them
- Help with stock orders (pick up and delivery), equipment orders, van checks, TBTs, issuing of timesheets and tickets, record any issues raised by staff members and assist with 1-2-1s with your team when needed
- Assist with the completion all forms relating to any incidents/accidents when asked
- Carry out 50 Quality Checks/Audits per month on Timegate and report any issues arising from these to the Contracts Manager
- Report issues at sites such as ASB, Graffiti etc. to the office
- Fully confident in using Timegate; train team operatives in the use of Timegate; help resolve issues that occur within the team
- Visit new sites, validate maps and provide details to Contracts Manager
- Help Contracts Manager/Supervisors formulate a plan to rectify any issues with the grounds maintenance and implement these with the staff member concerned, or if needed, to attend to the issue themselves
- Attend meetings and site walkabouts with residents and report any issues arising to your Contracts Manager
- Deal with complaints and negative feedback when needed
- Liaise with resident inspectors/estate champions as needed
- Assisting with quotations for one-off works and new schemes; providing the measures and times
- Report all incidents to your Contracts Manager / Operations Supervisor daily
- Any other work as deemed necessary by the company
On a daily basis you must:
- Be able to work closely with colleagues, staff and clients
- Be pro-active and committed to providing an excellent service

- Ability to be flexible with working hours
- Be honest, open and committed with strong personal integrity
**Skills and experiences**:
Passionate about landscaping and the environment, with a keen eye for detail and improvements
At least 3 years in the Ground Maintenance industry
Some level of horticultural / landscaping study would be highly preferred
Self-motivated with the ability to confidently work independently and delegate tasks
Spraying Certificates highly preferable
Flexible in approach to work and understand the necessity to work to deadlines and working outside in all types of weather
Familiar with GM tools and equipment and best horticultural practices
Natural team leader and confident delegator
Good communication and excellent English, both written and spoken
Ambitious and willing to go that extra mile to grow with the company and promote the company brand
A full, clean UK driving licence
