Senior Care Worker

As a Senior Care Worker your duties will involve the following:
**Principal duties and responsibilities**:
- To ensure service is delivered in accordance with all relevant policies, procedures, and practices.
- Ensure the highest possible levels of care are maintained by supporting/ assisting service users when required with all aspects of daily living.
- Assist service users in all aspects of their care needs (e.g. physical, emotional and spiritual). Provide attention when needed whilst ensuring service users retain their comfort and dignity.
- To support Service Users to achieve their defined outcomes as detailed in their care support plan. These will include the personal activities of daily living such as personal care, communication, meal preparation, and personal hygiene. It may also include support for community participation and reintegration.
- Carry out regular checks on service users at intervals determined by senior staff members.
- Assist service users who need help during meal times (be aware of swallowing difficulties, dietary requirements etc.). Assist with serving of food/drinks as requested/required. Wash up as requested/required.
- To proactively engage and liaise with other appropriate professionals or services to support a Service Users needs which could be facilitated through Adults’ Health and Care department (e.g. Health Visitors, GPs, Health, and Social Care Professionals, Department of Work and Pensions, Citizen Advice Bureau etc).
- Escort service users traveling to and from the care centre, e.g. on social outings, hospital visits, etc.
- Practice maximum integrity in all dealings with service users’ personal and financial affairs and avoid abuse of the privileged relationship that exists with service users.
- To facilitate access to organisations that will support community integration and participation in activities that enhance the persons' overall wellbeing.
- To fully understand the importance of working in partnership with others i.e. understands why it is important to work in partnership with key stakeholders and professionals, advocates, and others who are significant to the Service User.
- To be fully aware of attitudes and ways of working that help improve partnership with others and achieve better outcomes for the Service User
- To be fully aware of their responsibilities in relation to Safeguarding, Protection from Abuse, and their professional boundaries.
**Job Requirements**
- You must have a good basic education Level 3 in Health and Social care or equivalent.
- You must have a good general intelligence, clear reasoning ability, time management skills and able to multi-task and with problem-solving skills
- Ability to follow instructions at least 6 month's experience in a role caring for adults and with experience in working as a team member
- Good written and oral communication skills, empathy with residents, and leadership skills
- Self-reliant, motivated, dependable, trustworthy, pleasant, manner able
- Flexible with regard to working hours and available in reasonable emergencies
**Salary**: From £10.10 per hour
Schedule:
- 12 hour shift

- Charlton, SE7 8BH: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
**Experience**:
- providing care: 1 year (preferred)
- supervisory: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Driving Licence (preferred)
- NVQ Level 2 Health & Social Care (preferred)
