Senior Ecologist

**Location: Bradford on Avon, Wiltshire**

**Salary: £32k - £40k + Excellent Benefits**

**The Client**:
Our client is a multi-disciplinary organisation, providing a comprehensive suite of services, including ecological solutions and landscape architecture.

**The Role**:
As a **Senior Ecologist**, you will play a pivotal role in managing and delivering ecology projects, coordinating field surveys and deliverables for client projects.

**Responsibilities**:

- Undertake field surveys, including UK Habitat Classification and protected species surveys.
- Produce high-quality written documents, including survey reports, PEAs, EcIAs, HRAs, and Habitat Management Plans.
- Develop mitigation strategies and advise clients on Biodiversity Net Gain opportunities / requirements.
- Act as the day-to-day client contact and coordinate sub-consultants as required.
- Write quotes / tender proposals for projects across sectors.
- Mentor junior staff members within the ecology team and across the company.

**Requirements**:

- Previously worked as a Senior Ecologist or in a similar role.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in consultancy handling larger, multi-disciplinary projects.
- Possess relevant degree(s) and CIEEM membership.
- Experience in conducting biodiversity net gain assessments using the Defra Metric 4.0.
- Skilled in producing PEAs, Ecological Impact Assessment reports, and Ecology Chapters of Environmental Statements.
- Possess NE / NRW survey license. (Beneficial)
- Reliable skills in identifying and surveying botanical elements (FISC Level 4).
- Thorough understanding of UK planning system and relevant legislation.
