**Senior Ecologist - Stoke (£27-34k)**

Wardell Armstrong LLP is a successful multi-disciplinary consultancy with 13 offices across the UK, employing approximately 500 staff. We currently have circa 50 permanent ecologists across 8 offices and are looking to expand our team. Working together with our clients and other teams both internally and externally to deliver projects for our clients, the ecology team deliver solutions to challenging problems in a wide range of projects of varying sizes including residential, large-scale mixed-use developments, utilities & infrastructure, green energy (wind turbines, solar) and quarries plus a range of other bespoke projects and clients.

In this exciting role you will:

- Leading and undertaking ecological field surveys and the analysis and interpretation of survey results.
- Devise and Implement mitigation strategies and habitat management opportunities.
- Provide technical input and support to internal offices and clients.
- Mentor junior team members.
- Take responsibility for managing projects including resource allocation, managing subcontractors, managing risk, quality assurance, and client feedback.
- Developing emerging workstreams such as Biodiversity Net Gain

**You**:

- Be qualified to degree level or equivalent in ecology or a related discipline.
- Hold or be working towards protected species survey licenses and have some experience of protected species Mitigation Licensing.
- Have a full understanding of habitat survey and a broad knowledge of protected species survey.
- Be comfortable writing of Ecological Impact Assessment reports and understanding of CIEEM methodology.
