Learning Support Assistant

**About the role**:
As a flexible Learning Support Assistant you will be supporting children on a 1:1 basis or within a small class with their daily routine at school including activities, meal times and outdoor play. The activities carried out at school are to help the children to enhance their skills and based on the needs of the children. The activities carried out are things like outdoor play, music, baking, crafts etc, in which you will be required to take part in the activity alongside the children to help them to engage in the task.
The children and young people you will be supporting will be in mainstream setting, but will have additional needs including autism, learning disabilities, communication barriers and SEMH. You will be required to build rapport with the pupils and provide positive reinforcement to increase their confidence and self-esteem.
**About the school**:
The environment in which you will be working is in various Primary Schools in and around North Somerset - Weston-Super-Mare, Portishead, Clevedon - catering children between 4 and 11 years of age.
**Requirements**:
To be considered for the role of Learning Support Assistant you will:
- Be available from 08:30-15:30pm on any day between Monday and Friday.
- Have, or be willing to obtain a DBS on the update service.
- Be passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs.
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
- Experience within a school, club or similar setting supporting young people or adults.
