Job Title: Horticultural Maintenance & Installation Assistant

Reporting to: Project Co-ordinator

Hours: 40 hours a week, Monday - Friday

Location: London

**Salary: £30K - £33K per annum**

Tree Resource is currently recruiting for a Maintenance Assistant at its various locations across central London.

**About us and the role**:
We are a family run business installing and managing indoor and outdoor planting projects in both private and business settings.

We are looking for a Maintenance Assistant to work three days a week to help plant and maintain the planting at various properties in central London.

You will be supported by colleagues who will be on site daily, and the Project Co-ordinator, but you must be able to use your own initiative to deal with day-to-day situations and you may occasionally be the first port of call for our clients.

**The Role**

**Responsibilities**:

- Assisting with the planting up of new project installations as required
- Assisting with plant maintenance, including watering of indoor and outdoor plants and trees
- Identifying and treating indoor and outdoor plants for pests and disease, using biological methods wherever possible
- Pruning and cutting back any dead or dying plants as required
- Seasonal pruning as required
- Replacement planting of any plants that have failed
- Liaising with clients to ensure that all contractual obligations are being met
- Reporting back to the team any problems identified during weekly maintenance visits
- Holiday cover as required

**Essential**
- Valid driver’s licence
- A good knowledge of plants, planting and plant care
- Knowledge of pest and disease identification and treatment
- Familiarity with gardening tools
- Experience working with plants in small and large project site conditions
- Good all-round understanding of soft landscaping
- Excellent communication skills at all levels and clear understanding of the need for confidentiality
- Flexibility and willingness to work in accordance with the needs of the company
- Level 2 RHS Horticultural/Arboriculture qualification or similar
relevant qualification in horticulture, landscaping, garden design or arboriculture

**Desirable**:

- CSCS Card
- Valid first aid certificate

**Salary and Benefits**

20 days holiday, plus Bank holiday
Pension scheme

A DBS check will be required for the successful applicant.
