**The Role**

A new South Yorkshire Skills Hub is being established as part of the response to the region’s Local Skills Improvement Plan, published by South Yorkshire Chambers of Commerce in 2021.

It will operate as a gateway for employers who want to know more about how improving skills can help their business and would like an opportunity to discuss a package of support from providers across South Yorkshire.

The postholder will:

- Identify and engage with stakeholders and groups of learners to raise awareness of local skills provision and opportunities for South Yorkshire residents to up-skill or re-skill in line with emerging labour market demand
- Contribute to the development of a toolkit of material for use with potential learners which sets out opportunities accessible through the Hub, their relevance to local job opportunities and the potential benefits of upskilling or reskilling and the support available.
- Work with Communications and Marketing Teams across the Hub to implement a coherent strategy for skills and support the development and implementation of a single ‘celebration of learning’ event to take place in early 2023.
- Develop and maintain consistently positive relationships with stakeholders, including providers, learner representatives and employers and work collaboratively with Hub staff employed across South Yorkshire in a way which enhances the reputation of the Hub and its members with the wider skills business community.
- Work closely with other Hub staff to implement an effective and collaborative cross-College approach to employer engagement.
- Create and maintain accurate employer records and progress leads and emerging opportunities promptly and effectively.

Our large, vibrant and diverse Further Education College has four main campuses located across Sheffield. We are proud of our work with employers and how we are meeting local skills needs and transforming lives through learning.

Ideally, you will have extensive knowledge of engaging with applicants seeking employment and training.
