Gallery Assistant

An overview of duties is as follows:
Serving customers efficiently, providing information and assistance as necessary and taking payments. Packing their purchases appropriately and efficiently.
Receiving goods as they arrive, checking the orders are complete and correct, highlighting any discrepancies. Unpacking, pricing and displaying them in the gallery as appropriate.
Assisting in dealing with website orders and orders taken within the gallery or over the phone. Packing, or helping to pack, items which need to be sent to customers.
Helping to merchandise the gallery, including the windows, as required and appropriate. Re-merchandising and replenishing displays as items are sold.
Ensuring the gallery is clean and tidy.
Ensuring the bags, boxes and packing materials are tidy and easily accessible.
Helping to monitor stock levels, including both shop floor stock and consumables, such as bags, tape, wrapping materials etc to determine whether new orders need to be raised.

The hourly rate will be determined on age and experience.
Holiday entitlement:
Will be calculated in accordance with the hours worked and government guidelines.
Interviews:
Will be conducted in person, in the gallery, at a mutually convenient time or by Zoom/Skype.

A free parking space is available within the village if required and there is secure storage during the day for a bicycle. There is also a regular and reliable bus service to Grasmere.
