**Are you looking for a rewarding career that gives you flexibility and a real sense of a job well done? Working within a supportive team, improving the lives of older people could be for you?**
As part of our wider care team you’ll have a key role to play in the wellbeing of our residents. Responsible for preparing appetising meals for our care home residents, you will have a passion for cooking and will want to deliver great menus that understand the challenges of catering for older, vulnerable people - some of whom may have poor appetites. You’ll work closely with your care team colleagues to address their individual needs to ensure that all our residents are well cared for.
As a relief member of staff, you will have the flexibility to work as and when you want, with as few or as many shifts as you are able. This is a great way to achieve a work life balance, fitting work in around your other commitments.
This is a demanding role for a cook. But you will have lots of support and quality training to make a success of it.
**Requirements**:
You are a capable, experienced cook with a cooking qualification. In addition, you are a caring person who knows the vital role mealtimes play in the lives of others. Ideally, you’ve already got some experience catering for older people in a care home or similar setting, but more important is your enthusiasm and commitment to food. You’re well organised and a good team player. You’re happy working closely with colleagues to make sure individual dietary needs are met.
You’ll be a valued member of a friendly, close-knit team - keen to progress in your career, but most importantly to do your bit to improve the nutrition of older people.
With a working pattern between 8am and 5pm, this is role that will enable you to really make a difference.
Here at CrossReach, we strive to ensure that we are accepting, respectful and compassionate to both our customers and our employees. So, join us and you’ll be part of a professional environment with a range of development opportunities and a generous benefits package. It’s a career that will enhance your life and the lives of vulnerable people across Scotland.
As we do our work in Christ’s name the job you have applied for requires you to have a Christian faith and be able to work within and uphold our Christian Ethos. This is an Occupational Requirement under Part 1 of Schedule 9 to the Equality Act 2010.
We have a legal obligation to ensure that it does not employ any worker who has not been granted the relevant permission to work in the UK.
