Sand, United Kingdom Peterborough City Council Full time

Following the recent disaggregation of shared service arrangements between Peterborough and Cambridgeshire, Peterborough has the chance to refresh its identity and create a positive and dynamic culture as well as develop structures that are fit for purpose within our people services directorate.

We are looking for a highly motivated, energetic, optimistic and compassionate leader, with an understanding of the challenges and opportunities around including children and young people with high needs in a range of educational settings, and supporting their optimum progress.

You will have senior level relevant experience in local authority education services (service leader or more senior).

You will lead the Council’s approach to a professional, responsive Place Planning, Attendance & Admissions and Transport services across the Local Authority for all internal and external stakeholders, leading the team whilst providing support and development to them. Ensuring that all statutory and mandatory requirements are strategically planned, aligned and available to all stakeholders.

You will lead and develop the Council’s School Organisation Strategy, working with the wider agencies, national government agencies, executive members, senior leaders, key stakeholders and partners to ensure strategic planning and alignment of these key areas are effectively delivered and fulfil the statutory requirements of the Council.

You will be a proactive and accountable member of the Education Service’s senior leadership team ensuring business continuity is maintained across the Place Planning Team and to represent or deputise for the Service Director Education, if or when required.

We aspire for Peterborough to be one of the best places in the country for young people to grow, learn, develop and achieve - and one of the best places for colleagues to work and thrive in our education system.

We are proud to serve the diverse communities of Peterborough and want our workforce to reflect this diversity, which we believe is beneficial for our employees, the organisation and the communities we serve.
