Position: Part-Time Faculty - Reading

Discipline: Developmental Reading and Student Services

Part-time faculty position to teach all levels of reading and College Student Success courses on campus during the day. Classes could be at Newtown, Bristol, Perkasie campus locations, online, or remote. The Part-time Reading faculty will plan, prepare, and deliver quality classroom instruction based on the approved course outline by selecting and utilizing a variety of approved course materials. The faculty member will employ teaching methods that address all learning modalities to ensure that the needs of individual students are met.

Major Job Duties:
- Knowledge of course development, instruction, and evaluation. Knowledgeable in student learning using appropriate methods.- Conduct an engaging classroom based on the course outline.- Motivate students by demonstrating sensitivity to concerns and actively involving students in classroom discussions and/or activities.- Make arrangements for equipment and supplies, or other activities as needed.- Complete all course assessments as required.- Use technology to enhance teaching/learning in the classroom.- Participating in the assessment process- Maintaining current knowledge of the professional discipline- Maintaining appropriate expertise and competence through continuing professional development- Attend Fall-In-service session and professional development requirement.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Reading or closely related field

Preferred Qualifications:
- Community College teaching experience- 1-3 years of relevant teaching experience
