**About the role**:
The purpose of this role is to support the Debt Collection Manager with the internal debt collection process, taking surgery debt which has breached 30 days overdue, and following the internal debt collection process. This supports the company’s group strategy;Acquire, Build and Create, as the collection of cash within is vital for our ability to finance our strategic aims.

The jobholder will be part of the internal debt collection process, supporting the evolution of the processes and working towards the successful reduction of aged surgery debt levels and delivery of a first-class service to our surgeries.

**Responsibilities**:
The jobholder will be responsible for:

- Running daily debt tasks and communicate with debtors to reclaim outstanding monies in the most efficient way.
- Updating the PMS for each surgery to record debt collection notes.
- Ensuring all parties are kept fully up to date
- Sending accurate and timely communication to clients and practices when required
- Contacting clients to recover debt owed to surgeries, including discussing payment instalments available where appropriate, whilst maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times.
- Reporting to the Debt Collection Team Leaders to maintain the processes for chasing debt for the designated sites, identifying, and assisting in process improvement.
- Maintaining good communication to the Debt Collection Team Leaders regarding all aspects of the process to ensure a smooth transition of debt collection centrally.
- Recording debt collection progress notes on the surgeries’ practice management system and the central office master records, to a high standard of accuracy.
- Aiding the surgeries in the debt management process, becoming a 'middleman’ between practices and clients when needed to resolve any queries with a view to recovering the outstanding balance
- Ensuring all tasks are done in the most effective and timely manner and within the SLAs provided.
- Follow the specific debt escalation process when required.
- Any other tasks as required.

- Flexible and committed approach, with a desire to meet company objectives
- Good team working skills and work ethic

Desirable Criteria:

- Previous Debt Collection experience would be an advantage, but not essential
- Experience of a clinical / practice setting would be beneficial
- Knowledge of Voyager / Merlin PMS would be desirable
