Single Point of Access (SPA) is an expanding service whose role is vital to the delivery of adult community health services to housebound patients in the Herts Valleys area. Electronic and telephone referrals from a wide variety of professionals are channelled through the SPA on a daily basis.

SPA is also responsible for managing patient enquiries for a multitude of services, managing queries at the point of contact wherever possible. This high performing team has the benefit of using modern office equipment and accesses an advanced electronic patient record system.

The Single Point of Access is located on the edge of Hemel Hempstead in the recently refurbished Hemel One building which has excellent road links, plenty of free parking and on-site restaurant/kitchen facilities.

The team has a highly supportive culture and is comprised of a mixture of experienced and developing administrators working across this 7-day service. We are looking for full time staff to help us grow our team. The service hours are 8am to 8pm on a rotational basis and shifts can be flexible around the service needs.

The post holder is a member of the SPA team and the responsibilities of the team are to support clinical services to manage the daily demand of referrals and to effectively prioritise incoming referrals into urgent and non-urgent.

The SPA is responsible for processing and registering new referrals, booking clinics, updating waiting lists and communicating appointment related information to patients, carers and health professionals. They aim to make effective use of resources, reduce duplication and ensure that referrals are effectively and safely managed through the system. They that appropriate referrals are accepted and any urgent needs highlighted to the appropriate clinical services
