Junior Graphic Designer

Purpose of Role

The role of Graphic Designer is to create standout work for Play. Reporting to the Senior Designer, you’ll generate ideas, spot them in others, harness it in all of us, inspire our clients, and support on the production of brilliant work from the agency.

You will be an ambassador for creativity at Play and help establish the creative credentials of the agency in Havas Village and amongst our competitors.

The role requires a solid grounding in graphic design, with strong layout and typographic skills at the heart of your work. You will live and breathe the latest trends and share your findings with others. Collaboration is key to working at Play and a

can-do attitude and a degree of flexibility is important.

Key Responsibilities

Content creation
- We are looking for a great junior designer who oozes talent and is not afraid to get stuck in from the off.
- An eye for the next big thing in design.
- We need someone that lives and breathes design on all fronts, across all platforms, especially for design and best in practice multiple mediums.
- Someone who has the potential to make anything look beautiful, challenging the norm and striving for the best.
- Think creatively and approach clients with proactive opportunities
- Extend creative concepts to other areas of Play expertise where relevant

Client Management
- Present creative solutions with enthusiasm and zeal to clients and agency partners
- Identify opportunities to creatively grow your brands and clients
- Pitch proactive ideas that are pertinent to your brands and clients

Day to day:
Across a varied range of clients, working on projects that include:

- Branding - Logo / Collateral Design (Applied)
- Advertising Comms: Poster / Print / Digital (Layout / Typography)
- Presentation Materials - Key Visuals / Adcepts (to get across communications)

Mentored by / and support to the wider studio, Creative Directors and Senior Designers.

Clients could include: EE, Adobe, MLB, Aston Martin, Bethesda, More Than, Jaguar Land Rover, JBL and many more.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required for the Role
- Amazing eye for detail
- Typography skills
- Motion Graphics (a nice to have)
- Competent with Adobe CC
- Thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Proven ability to sell in creative ideas to clients
- Graphic/Motion Design related degree
- A degree of flexibility
- A can do attitude
- Collaboration with others to create award winning work
