We are currently recruiting for a Housing Officer on a permanent basis for a housing association based in Gloucestershire. The salary is £28,500 with a car allowance of £1,400

Daily Duties:

- Manage a geographical patch of general needs tenants as well as shared ownership.
- Be responsible for the upkeep of all tenancy paperwork throughout tenure.
- Ensuring all tenancy paperwork is stored compliantly.
- Assist residents with managing their tenancy appropriately.
- Deliver a sensitive service to those at risk, making referrals to relevant agencies and signposting tenants to external agencies where it is determined that they need support or welfare services.
- Conduct estate inspections and maintain a physical presence in your neighbourhood, ensuring all property and land of our responsibility is effectively maintained.
- Complete quarterly inspections of all communal areas within and update housing management systems to ensure maximum compliance.
- Proactively resolve low-level anti-social behaviour and action all tenancy management issues, including no access issues, succession queries, assignments, and abandonments.
- Coordinate all tenant decants acting as the contact point for tenants during this process.
- Use your expertise to deliver customer-focused products and services.
- Take ownership of your own objectives to support delivery of the organisation's strategic plans and mission.
- Work with your line manager to ensure that projects are delivered within budgets.
- Act as an ambassador for the organisation, reflecting the organisation's values and work with inhouse specialists to prepare reactive and proactive responses for local and trade media as required.

Essential Skills you will hold:

- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload effectively.
- Experienced in tenancy and housing management legislation and working in challenging customer facing situations.
- Good communication skills to provide an efficient service for all customers and stakeholders.
- Ability to work with in house teams and third-party organisations
- A great understanding of housing policy, landlord and tenant legislation.
- A proven track record for supporting delivery at an operational level and the ability to undertake performance management.
- Promotion of positive and honest attitude with all staff and colleagues.
- A creative thinker who positively challenges those around them to think differently and find new solutions.
- Use of their own experience and knowledge to share ideas for change to achieve results and drive cost effective solutions.
