Shop Assistant

**If so, we have a fabulous opportunity for you as a **part-time Shop Assistant** **in our Retail team **at our Furniture and Craft Emporium in Wymondham. In this role, **you will help to help to deliver a high-quality customer service, while maximising sales and profit.**

As a regional cancer charity, Big C are dedicated to supporting anyone affected by cancer in Norfolk and neighbouring counties whilst working with key partners in research and healthcare to improve future outcomes.

There are an estimated 2.5 million people living with cancer in the UK. 1 in 2 people will get cancer in their lifetime. Big C seeks and implements new approaches and projects to make sure that no one is missing out on the opportunity to access our support.

Big Cs work focuses on 6 key areas:

- Support for people affected by cancer
- Research into cancer
- Equipment provision for the regions main acute hospital trusts
- Education provision of interventional and presentational education programmes
- Income Generation raising vital funds to improve the lives of people living with cancer
- People Big C service users, their loved ones, Big C trustees, staff, volunteers and fundraisers

**About the role**

As a retail assistant you will support the team in the day to day running and ongoing development of the shop to achieve income targets in line with agreed budgets, driving high standards and profitability. This will include serving customers, operating the till and displaying stock. Additionally, you will act as an ambassador of Big C promoting awareness and endorsing the aims and objectives of Big C.

The working hours are **7 hours per week on a **Saturday. **Some flexibility to work during the week may be required from time to time.

The salary will be National Minimum Wage for age,** ie £11.44 if 21 or over, £8.60 if 18-20 or £6.40 if under 18.**
