We are looking for an experienced team leader/ dispenser to work in our friendly branch surgery at Penshurst. You will be working alongside the 3 other team members and 1 GP.

**The main responsibilities of the role include**: Staff management Management of staff on a day-to-day basis. Organising dispensary staff rotas and ensuring adequate staff cover at all times. Training dispensary staff, including encouraging and organising attendance on relevant recognised courses. Purchasing and stock control.

Ad hoc daily ordering of stock. Weekly ordering of generic stock. Weekly checking of DDA stock and ordering as necessary. Weekly checking of PAs and ordering as necessary.

Ensuring goods are correctly delivered. Checking dispensary invoices against delivery notes and recording items for refunding. Passing such invoices for payment. Checking monthly statements.

Maintaining adequate stocks, ensuring timely stock rotation. Completing annual stock takes in dispensary, CD cupboard and consulting rooms. Listing, pricing stock and boxing out of date stock. liaising with drug company representatives.

Meeting regularly with drug company representatives ensuring the best possible discount levels. Liaising with the alliance pharmaceutical advisor. Daily checking of prescriptions for signature/endorsements and sort into paid/unpaid by doctor. Daily cashing up of prescription moneys, balancing and recording money from the till Weekly submitting of prescription moneys for banking, ensuring sufficient change is available.

Implementing of critical drug alerts and running searches. Monthly checking of the drug tariff for pricing and category changes, checking BNF for new or discontinued drugs, and following up changes with drug company representatives where necessary.

Dealing daily with returned medication from patients. Dealing monthly with uncollected medication. Dealing with returned controlled drugs from patients for destruction. Dealing with out-of-date controlled drugs with the appropriate officer from the health authority for destruction.

Overseeing/checking colleagues dispensing. Dispensing medication acute and repeat. Issuing repeat medication. Responsible for dispensing IT issues.

Responsible for DSQS and the dispensing LES. Participating in staff meetings and relevant training.

**Person Specification - Essential Qualifications**
- NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent
- Nationally recognised Accredited Dispensing Assistant qualification or equivalent
- Knowledge of pharmacy service procedures
- GCSE (or equivalent) English & Maths at Grade C or above
- Experience of working in a dispensary
- Experience of working in primary care
- Experience of administrative /receptionist duties
- Experience working with the general public/patients

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

**Salary**: From £15.14 per hour

Expected hours: 8.00 - 18.45 per week
