Applicants for the trainee post must ensure they satisfy the academic requirements of the University providing the training before applying.

The work of a Pollution Control Officer / Environmental Health Officer (based within our Pollution Team) is varied but founded on the protection of public health through protecting our environment-including our air quality, reducing pollutants including noise and environmental related anti-social issues, private sector housing problems and the food we eat.

The shared environmental health service covers the beautiful countryside of Rother and Wealden, including the towns of Bexhill, Crowborough, Hailsham and Rye.

You must be committed to working with the community, dedicated to protecting public health and the rights of individuals to enjoy their homes and their neighbourhood.

The successful applicant must enjoy working with the public, including supporting individuals within the community, have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and have the ability to carry out effective enforcement, including investigating problems, obtaining evidence, and taking enforcement action.

The post holder would be expected to work alone, sometimes outside office hours.

**Salary**: £22,437.00-£30,393.00 per year
