We are looking for a patient and caring female to join our dedicated team of Support Workers in our Supported Living service in St Thomas, Swansea.

This a permanent 20-hour opportunity. You will be required to work a set rota with various shift times, including sleep in shifts. Day shifts are typically split between 7am-11pm, with sleeps ins as extra.

**Due to the needs of the individuals we support in this service the post holder for this role is required to be female**

**Due to the needs of the individuals we support in this service, a full UK manual driving licence and access to a car is required**

**What is the role?**

This service is the home of one female with learning disabilities. You will be working with her to support with day to day independence, enhance her various skills and support with daily activities as well as providing emotional support.

She enjoys shopping, meals out and other activities. As there is just the one lady in this service, it is a very quiet and relaxed environment.

By being part of this team, you would play an influential role in enabling this incredible individual to lead fulfilling and independent lives and see first-hand how you make a difference to her.

You will be expected to support with daily aspects of living, including:

- Medication administration
- Cooking skills and other household skills
- Some personal care needs.
- Accessing the community and supporting to local groups
- Supporting with individuals’ hobbies and activities such as walking/hiking
- Being a team player and having good communication skills
- Completing relevant paperwork to a high standard
- Supporting individuals to budget finances
- Providing companionship to the people we support through talking about their interests and wellbeing.
- Having fun by encouraging the supported individuals to take part in activities that enhance their life skills and promote independence.
- Take the people we support out and about therefore a full manual driving licence is essential for this role.
- Encouraging and supporting with cleaning and administrative duties
- Being able to bring fresh ideas to the team and implement different ways of working.
- Supporting Individuals with their individual needs

It is important you are committed and able to commit to the shift patterns in this service.

**What skills and experience do you need?**

A background of working with people with learning, physical or mental health needs is desired, but not necessary as full training and support from senior staff and management is provided.  More important are;
- A passion to work with and enable people to live as independent a life as possible
- An enthusiasm and passion for making a difference to people’s lives
- A strong initiative and ability to work alone as well as being a great team player

**What are the pay and benefits?**
- An hourly rate of £12.15 making the annual salary £23,376 (FTE)
