Via currently has a fantastic part time opportunity in our Assets and Developments Team as an Asset Management Assistant in our Highway Searches team based at our Trent Bridge House Office.

Our Highway Searches Team answer queries on the series of standard enquiries in relation to the highways aspects of the second part of a Local Land Charge search, from District and Borough Councils

In addition, the team is responsible for providing answers to highways questions on searches from solicitors and personal search companies.

This includes information such as whether a road is publicly adopted, details of the extents of a public highway, information on highway improvement proposals / schemes, and details of private roads or roads undergoing adoption under Section 38 or 278 Agreements.

**The Job**

Key areas of responsibility will include:
- Support the development of the computerised Highway Asset Management System whilst maintaining the day to day operation and availability of the system and its mobile solution for all users.
- Carry out highway searches in line with the highways element of the CON29 for internal and external users, District & Borough Councils, Solicitors, Search Companies and the general public to ensure a timely, accurate response in line with company performance requirements.
- Ensure quarterly and other periodic invoicing and payments for the Highway Searches Service are processed timely and accurately to ensure income figures are kept up to date.
- Maintain an up to date version of the Searches Manual, which provides how-to guidance on the search process itself to ensure the service activities are current and in keeping with best practice.
- Support Health, Safety and Welfare management across the Service, ensuring that Health and Safety legislation, Policy and best practice is fully adhered to.

**The Person**

Mainly you will be excited to be a vital part of our Assets and Developments team, but there are just a few other things we’d like from you:
- Working knowledge of commonly used IT packages.
- Some knowledge of specialised databases, GIS mapping software and data analysis tools.
- Good interpersonal skills with an ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and other departments to achieve agreed objectives.
- Good literacy and numeracy skills.
