**About the Role**

**Base Location**:Flexible UK, however our preference is that you will be based in one of our key sites, which includes but is not limited to:

- Glasgow, Perth, Aberdeen, Inverness, Reading and Havant.

**What is the Role?**

SSE Renewables Onshore Origination, Land and Estates team are crucial to our success in meeting our net zero transition targets. We have very ambitious goals, and to ensure we achieve these, we are looking for talented, passionate and innovative Estates Surveyors to join the growing team.

Not only will you provide support and advice to the development, construction and asset management teams for our development and operational onshore wind and hydro projects within the UK, but you’ll also be coming into a team offering excellent career development opportunities as our international portfolio expands.

Some of your main accountabilities as Estates Surveyor will include;
- Negotiating with landlords/landowners and tenants on lease variations and rent reviews; ensuring that any notices are served in the correct and timely manner.
- Ensuring that any land rights required to maximise the potential of the existing portfolio are obtained in a timely manner.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure rent payments are made correctly and on time.
- Providing advice on the practicalities of the commercial and contractual obligations set out within SSER land contracts.
- Build on existing landowner relationships to ensure good communication is maintained.
- Appointing and managing external surveyors and advisors where necessary.

**What do I need?**
- Experience of managing land and property interests, with multi-use, multi-occupancy issues, and financial obligations.
- Good negotiation skills and familiarity with conflict resolution.
- The ability to identify project related land risks and suggest mitigations to ensure potential conflicts are avoided.

The nature of this role will require some travel to remote locations across the UK and Ireland, therefore a full and valid driving license will be essential.
