Web Development Manager

We are excited to be working with a world-class research laboratory to recruit a Web Development Manager for their team.
**Person requirements**:

- Degree in a computer science, web design/development or related program, or equivalent years of experience.
- Experience of leading and managing large and institution-wide web development projects with responsive design.
- Experience of working on multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Expertise and advanced knowledge in using open-source web CMS WordPress on both back and front-end development.
- Advanced knowledge and experience of coding new components, features and functionality, especially using HTML5, CSS and JavaScript.
- Experience with database languages such as SQL.
- Experience with appropriate libraries and frameworks for WordPress.
- Expertise in testing and debugging frontend and backend elements.
- Experience with Linux-based web servers.
- Expertise in reporting and interpreting web analytics using tools like Google Analytics, Hotjar, Open Web Analytics etc.
- Experience creating mock-ups and prototypes using Sketch or the Adobe Creative Suite software and familiarity with web and UI/UX design.
- Knowledge of version control systems like Git.
- Knowledge of using support ticketing systems like osTicket.

**Desirable**:

- Experience with popular frameworks like Rails and Angular.
- Experience of using Swift or Kotlin for mobile app development.

- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Outstanding leadership, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to work and lead independently.
- Critical thinking skills and a keen problem solver regularly coming up with solutions and workarounds.
- Resilience to work under pressure, balance competing priorities and deadlines.
- Passion for learning and a willingness to discover newer methods and tools for efficient workflows and development of web assets.
- Be open to receiving feedback as well as giving constructive feedback to team members to help their development.
- Adaptable and flexible with an openness to change including the adoption of future digital technologies.
- Driven by customer satisfaction.
