**Company description**
Alethiomics Ltd is a pre-clinical biotech company harnessing the power of single cell multi-omic technology to discover and develop life changing treatments for patients with blood cancer. A recent spin-out from the University of Oxford, Alethiomics was co-founded with support from Oxford University Innovation in 2021 by Prof. Adam Mead and Prof Bethan Psaila, both academic clinicians and expert haematologists.
This position is an opportunity to join our drug discovery team. Working closely with our academic Founders, you will focus on the identification of markers of cancer development and progression through single-cell, multi-omic approaches.

**Job description**
**You will be responsible for analysis of single cell data and other multi-omic data to identify new strategies for targeting cancer**
**Required education & experience**
- Degree in genomics/bioinformatics, molecular biology/biochemistry, bioengineering, computational biology or similar.
- Experience with common NGS bioinformatics tools.
- Experience with programming in Python and/or R.
- Excellent communication skills to allow efficient interactions.
- Enthusiasm for a role in a small-startup environment.
- Good knowledge and understanding of cell biology, in particular in relation to oncology.
- Experience of one or more of the following would be an advantage:
Single-cell NGS data analysis (e.g. RNA-seq), Nextflow pipeline development, Target identification and validation, antibody or small molecule drug discovery, haemato-oncology.
**Reporting lines**
- Function reports to Head of Informatics
**Main areas of responsibility**
- Analyse, deeply understand and generate hypothesis for possible drug targets based on single cell sequencing data and public domain datasets.
- Develop new approaches for the analysis of single-cell data.
- Communicate effectively with team members across the company.
- Report via oral updates, written reports and technical meetings.

- Broaden our understanding of the current targets from company’s portfolio.
