**Job Title: Interim Head of Housing**

**Duration: 6-Month Contract**

**Location: Dorset, Hybrid Working**

**Rate: £500-£600 per day**

**Responsibilities**: As the Interim Head of Housing, you will act as a deputy for the Director, ensuring the seamless operation of housing services and freeing up valuable time for strategic priorities. Your key responsibilities will include:

- ** Operational Oversight**: Provide strong operational leadership across various activities typical of a Unitary Local Authority, emphasising a focus on enabling and housing needs.
- ** Collaboration and Partnership**: Foster effective collaboration with key partners across professions to achieve optimal outcomes, ensuring the best possible services for the community.
- ** Functional Areas**: Oversee a range of functions, including Housing Standards (including Housing-related environmental health), Homelessness and Housing Advice, Temporary Accommodation, Housing Register and Lettings, Housing Strategy, and Housing Enabling in liaison with Registered Providers.
- ** Team Support**: Work closely with a motivated team of Service Managers, supporting the continuation and development of their work. Facilitate the successful execution of transformation projects aligned with the new Housing Strategy.
- ** Project Management**: Lead and contribute to transformation projects aimed at meeting housing demand and supply challenges within Dorset, ensuring successful outcomes.

**Requirements**:

- Proven operational experience within a large Unitary Local Authority.
- Strong understanding of housing-related functions, with a focus on enabling and housing needs.
- Exceptional collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across various professional domains.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and supporting teams.
- Previous involvement in transformation projects is desirable.
